SERVICE TAX DUE DATE FOR JULY - SEPTEMBER 2012 QUARTER EXTENDED TO 30TH APRIL 2013

DUE DATE EXTENDED FOR SERVICE TAX RETURN

Keeping in view the difficulties being faced in filing returns the Central Board of Excise & Customs has extended the due date of filing the return for July -September 2012 to 30/04/2012. Order in this regards may read as under:

            In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule(4) of rule 7 of the Service Tax Rules, 1994, the Central Board of Excise & Customs hereby extends the date of submission of the  Form ST-3  for the period from 1^st July 2012 to 30th September 2012, from 15^th April, 2013 to  30th  April, 2013.

            The circumstances of a special nature, which have given rise to this extension of time, are as follows:  

“Assessees have represented about difficulties in filing returns. While this aspect is being attended to, there should not be any delay and inconvenience to the assessees.”
